TV Today Network has announced two key editorial elevations, with Geeta Mohan elevated to Group Editor – Foreign Affairs and Akshita Nandagopal being promoted to Executive Editor – Output, India Today TV.
Geeta has been an integral part of the organisation for many years. Over the years, she has reported responsibly from conflict zones, including Afghanistan, Ukraine and Iran, and has consistently taken India Today’s foreign affairs coverage to the international stage.
Her expertise, credibility and consistency have enabled her to secure high-profile interviews at critical junctures with world leaders and policymakers, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. Her interviews have made news around the world and earned widespread acclaim. Her interview with President Putin broke every record garnering a whopping 1.2 million concurrent live viewers during the broadcast.
Geeta in her trademark quiet style been working on India Today Global, our multiplatform venture focused on analysing the rapidly changing dynamics of world politics since last year. Given the current geopolitical landscape, there could not be a better time or person to take this initiative forward which has already made such a distinct mark in the media space.
Her journey is a wonderful example of the depth of talent within our newsroom and our commitment to nurture and promote it. We could not be prouder of her and wish her every success as she takes our international footprint to new heights.
And in other exciting news Akshita Nandagopal has been elevated to Executive Editor – Output, India Today TV, and will now lead the Output team. Akshita has been with the organisation since 2019, and her elevation is a proud moment for all of us, a true example of how we recognise and grow talent from within. Over the years, she has shown strong editorial judgement, hands-on leadership and an unwavering commitment to the newsroom, and we are confident she will continue to lead the team with the same energy and dedication.
In her new role, Akshita will work closely with Samkhya Edamaruku, Group Managing Editor – Production, to ensure seamless coordination between Output and Production and will report to Editorial Director Supriya Prasad.
