India Today Originals has been declared National Winner for ‘Best Documentary History’ at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) 2026. The recognition has been conferred for Episode 2 of its five-part documentary series, India Today@50. Titled ‘Era of Identity, Insurgency & Terror’, the episode covers the decade from 1985 to 1995.
Created to commemorate the India Today Group’s 50th anniversary, the series examines five decades of India’s journey. The award-winning episode explores a defining period in the country’s contemporary history, shaped by complex questions of identity, insurgency and terror.
The National Winner for Best Documentary History designation recognises the entry as the winner in its category at the national level in India, qualifying it to represent the country at the Asian Academy Creative Awards’ regional competition.
