PM to address over 2,000 farmers, policymakers, and global experts at Bharat Mandapam November 11–12. Presented by Mahindra Tractors and Co-Presented by Mahadhan Agritech.
New Delhi: As India cements its position as a global agricultural powerhouse, the India Today Group has announced the Kisan Tak Bharat Agriculture Conference 2026, an international forum dedicated to the future of Indian agriculture and the aspirations of its farmers. Scheduled for November 11–12, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the two-day conference will bring together farmers, policymakers, diplomats, industry leaders, and agricultural scientists to discuss the sector’s next frontier of growth, resilience, and emerging opportunities. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will deliver the Plenary Address at the summit.
Presented by Mahindra Tractors, the conference will be held under the theme “Smart Kisan, Viksit Bharat”. Around 2,000 farmers from across the country are expected to attend, placing their experiences and perspectives at the centre of discussions at one of India’s foremost venues for national and international dialogue. Discussions will heavily spotlight the integration of next-generation agritech—from precision farming and AI-driven resource management to climate-resilient crop varieties—ensuring that grassroots innovation meets cutting-edge science.
Alongside panel discussions, the programme will feature accounts of agricultural innovation and enterprise, with particular attention to farmers and women entrepreneurs who have combined traditional knowledge with modern practices to improve livelihoods and create opportunities in rural India.
About 20 farmers from across India will lighten up the Conference with their stories of spectacular resilience and success in their farms. These lived experiences, shared in their own language and idiom, LIVE on stage, will not just motivate other farmers across the country but also tell the world that India’s farmers are already putting India on the path to Viksit Bharat 2047. Among those sharing their journeys will be Padma Shri recipients Rahibai Soma Popere, Trinity Saioo, Nek Ram Sharma, Sultan Singh, and Sundaram Verma.
The programme will also celebrate rural India’s cultural traditions, with performances by Padma Shri folk singer Prahlad Tipanya, poet Rudra Pratap Rudra, and Bhojpuri singer Chandan Tiwari. Actor, singer, and Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari will also participate.
The conference comes at a pivotal moment for Indian agriculture, a sector that employs approximately 46 per cent of the country’s workforce. Backed by the Government of India’s Economic Survey 2025–26— which highlights a record foodgrain production of 357.73 million tonnes—discussions will examine how this productive strength can translate into higher farmer incomes, reduced supply-chain friction, and wider global export opportunities. The summit will culminate in a landmark Plenary Address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, setting the strategic vision for empowering farmers as the driving force behind a self-reliant, developed nation.
Significantly, The Union Agriculture Ministry and Indian Council For Agricultural Research (ICAR), are collaborating with Kisan Tak for the Conference. Here is what Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said of the partnership:
“The Bharat Agriculture Conference being organised by India Today and Kisan Tak will be a new roadmap for the collective prosperity of the nation’s food providers. The real foundation of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ is our ‘Smart Kisan’ and the ‘Health of Agriculture’. Smart farming is not merely about modern technology, but also about maintaining the long-term health of our soil, reducing farmers’ costs and increasing their incomes. India Today Group’s Kisan Tak deserves commendation for taking the initiative to make farmers smarter. Because only when our agriculture is healthy, farmers’ incomes are strong and farmers become smart will India become truly developed and self-reliant.”
Announcing the initiative, Aroon Purie, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, India Today Group, said:
“Agriculture is India’s biggest profession, and its future dictates our nation’s destiny. We are deeply honored that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will deliver the Plenary Address at the Kisan Tak Bharat Agriculture Conference 2026. Through this summit, we are bringing the ingenuity of our farmers into direct dialogue with global science, policy, and industry to engineer lasting, tech-enabled prosperity.”
Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson & Executive Editor-in-Chief, India Today Group, said:
“India’s most compelling narratives of grit and innovation originate in our villages. Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business & Member of Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. & Chair, FICCI Agriculture Committee, said:
“The farmer has one of the toughest jobs in the world, navigating uncertainty while carrying the responsibility of feeding the nation. While technology and innovation have helped improve productivity and profitability, our larger responsibility is to make farming easier and more rewarding, while unlocking the next phase of growth for agriculture in India.
