Vijay Rawat, who left journalism and shifted to the social sector, has been promoted to the post of CEO in Katori Food and Pvt. Ltd.
Katori Food is an FMCG brand that markets products made by rural women. Vijay left the post of multimedia head in Zee News one and a half years ago and joined Manjari Foundation as the head of communication.
Manjari Foundation works for the empowerment of women and is active in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, whose founder and ED is Sanjay Kumar who has been a fellow of the Ford Foundation. Under Manjari Foundation, women are helped to set up microenterprises, then the products made by those rural women are sold in the market under the name of Katori brand so that rural women can get economic empowerment. Currently, Vijay will handle the work of head of communication in Manjari Foundation and CEO of Katori Food.
Vijay has also worked as Senior Associate Editor at Bluecraft Digital Foundation. Bluecraft Digital Foundation works on policy making research. And is also the technical partner of Prime Minister Modi’s Mann Ki Baat and Exam Warriors book. Apart from this, Vijay has played the role of output head in Jan Sandesh and India News Haryana. He has also played the role of output head in India TV and TV9’s Bollywood channel Lehren. Vijay has done Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Makhan Lal Chaturvedi University, Bhopal and has obtained a Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication degree from Delhi University.
