“Sometimes there are deleted scenes which are closer to my heart than the ones included in the film but we have to work around it.” – Imtiaz Ali

Speaking about the bonus scenes, Imtiaz Ali said, “Sometimes there are deleted scenes which are closer to my heart than the ones included in the film but we have to work around it.”

Imtiaz Ali takes us through few of the deleted scenes of the movie ‘Tamasha’ that premieres on &pictures on Saturday, 25th June at 8:30 PM along with these bonus scenes.

SCENE: Ved’s bond with his grandmother

He added “Tamasha was a film where we had to make the screenplay smooth and keep it short. We had to let go off many beautiful scenes. There were many such memorable moments between Yash (the kid who played Ranbir) and Sushmaji but we had to delete them. But I am happy that the audience will now get to see them on TV.”

SCENE: Ved goes to the Pub

“In this scene, Ved’s colleagues take him to a shady pub in Delhi to make him meet some other girl and distract him from his post break up syndromes. In his desperation to prove that he is unnerved by the break up, he tries to get cosy with the girl.”

SCENE: Ved-the local celebrity

“This one is shot at one of the eating joints in Delhi. Ved visits it one day and shares his stories with people around. This place gradually becomes his respite, his escape from all the frustrations of his mundane life. Here, he finds people charmed by his abilities. He finds his fans.”

“We lose the balance of life and start living a life beyond the norms of normalcy” – Imtiaz Ali

SCENE: Ved becomes Majnu

This scene shows Ved as Majnu. It goes to symbolise that whenever we, as humans come across a drastic truth that shakes us from within, we become like Majnu. We lose the balance of life and start living a life beyond the norms of normalcy. Ved becomes like that.
