CNN-IBN, India’s most awarded English News channel & IBN7, India’s channel of impact, were once again recognized for their journalistic excellence. The channels’ shows and journalists won several awards in multiple categories at this year’s Exchange4media News Broadcasting Awards.
Continuing with its tradition of winning big, CNN-IBN bagged 4 awards at the event. Prabhakar Kumar (Chief of Bureau, Patna) bagged the award for the Best Spot News Reporting – English for his outstanding coverage of Nepal Earthquake. The Himalayan Tragedy won the award for the Best News Coverage – International – English for its continuous coverage of the Nepal Quake. While Reporters Project won the award for the Best In-depth Series – English for its on-ground coverage of the 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections, the channel also won the award for the Best Business Programme – English for its show The GST Classroom that decoded the Goods and Services Tax for its viewers.
IBN7 also won recognition for its insightful & impactful journalism- Prateek Trivedi (Senior Anchor) won the award for the Best Continuing Coverage by a Reporter- Hindi for a special audience-based show on Bihar Elections called “Bihar Maange More” while the channel’s investigative report on Railway’s Tatkal Scam, Operation 30 seconds won the award for the Best News Coverage – National- Hindi.
