In line with Michelle Obama’s belief that “a healthy woman is a powerful woman”; Nutrifresh focuses on the health and wellbeing of their female workforce. With the strength of over 60% women overall and over 80% women at the farm operation level, they celebrate the dedication and resilience of the women who have contributed in the Company’s success. This year Nutrifresh’s Women’s Day theme was centred around women’s health, with a particular focus on the often-taboo subject of intimate hygiene, overall wellbeing and health as it is essential for women of all ages to know and be aware about taking proper care of their health and maintaining hygiene.
Despite increasing female literacy, poor hygienic practices are persisting, especially during menstruation. The health and hygiene sessions were catered for the women working at the farms and in offices. The session at the farms, primarily focused on the overall health and hygiene that should be maintained in general including the healthy food habits and living a healthy way of life including focusing on developing a habit of working out daily. The corporate session conducted at the offices focused predominantly on the importance of menstrual hygiene and awareness of diseases such as rubella, breast and ovarian cancer, etc.
To celebration for the day we brought to an end with goodie bag consisting of high-quality health and hygiene products such as organic bamboo sanitary napkins sourced locally from female small business highlighting Nutrifresh’s commitments to sustainable sourcing and supporting local businesses.
