India’s leading business news platform, Business Today Multiverse, is set to host the BT India@100 Summit, bringing together some of the country’s most influential voices in business, governance, and public policy. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, will headline the summit with a keynote session on India’s long term growth trajectory, setting the tone for forward-looking discussions during the course of the day.

With the theme ‘India@2047: Blueprint for a Developed Nation,’ this year’s edition will be held on August 8, 2025 in New Delhi. It will focus on shaping long-term agenda for India’s transformation into a high-income, innovation-led economy by the time it completes 100 years of independence.

The summit will feature a diverse line-up of speakers such as Dr. Arvind Panagariya, Chairman, 16th Finance Commission; Dr. Arunish Chawla, Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM); NK Singh, Former Chairman, 15th Finance Commission of India; Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission among others. Conversations will centre around key themes including economic resilience, institutional reforms, AI and digital innovation, trade, urbanisation, and sustainability. Exploring India’s opportunities and challenges, as it aspires to take its place among the top three global economies.

A key highlight of this year’s summit is the launch of Business Today’s 100 Ideas for India@100; a carefully curated list of actionable reforms and visionary proposals divided across 10 key sectors. The sectors are ranging from GST 2.0, land and labour reforms to cleaner air, safer cities for women, boosting digital & education infrastructure and more. The ideas are a result of months-long internal research and consultations with experts such as Manish Sabharwal (TeamLease), Rajesh Shukla (PRICE), and inputs from ICRIER, CSIS, ASER, and former policymakers including Anil Swarup and Subhash Chandra Garg. With less than 25 years left until 2047, BT India@100 will explore what it takes for India to emerge not just as a fast-growing economy, but as a truly developed nation; economically, institutionally, and socially.

The BT India@100 Summit 2025 is not only a platform for bold ideas, but also a space for accountability and collective vision-building. It acknowledges that the responsibility for progress lies not just with the government, but also with industry leaders, civil society, and citizens. The roadmap to 2047 will require balancing ambition with pragmatism, innovation with equity, and national goals with global competitiveness.
