Quaker adds wholesome touches into Kerala's Onam festivities

As Kerala prepares to celebrate the much-loved festival of Onam, Quaker, a brand that stands for nutrition, is all set to celebrate meals with nutritious Oats. With its latest regional initiative, Quaker Onam Mahotsavam, the brand highlights how oats can be a versatile ingredient for a variety of festive dishes.

Kerala holds a special place in Quaker’s journey in India and oats pair well with Kerala’s culinary staples such as coconut, jaggery, curry leaves, and spices, making them easy to include in recipes and simple to prepare.

Made with goodness of natural wholegrain, Quaker Oats are great quality oats, containing complex carbohydrates, dietary fibre and beta glucan – a unique soluble fibre that helps reduce cholesterol. With their high fibre and protein content, oats add a unique touch to festive celebrations, making them a great choice for dishes.

The Mahotsavam comes to life through engaging digital content led by celebrated chefs and passionate food enthusiasts from Kerala, who have integrated oats into popular festive favourites like Avial and Payasam. Building on the success of Quaker’s last year’s culinary campaign, Ishitavibhavam eni quaker oatne oppum (Mann Chaha Khana, Quaker se banana)”, this 2.0 edition sees Quaker partnering with renowned Chef Ranjith Elavoor, along with local creators, to reimagine traditional Onam recipes with a nourishing twist. Chef Ranjith journeys through 14 districts of Kerala, uncovering 14 iconic dishes and the fascinating stories behind their origins.

These creations celebrate the richness of the traditional plantain leaf spread, enhancing its timeless cultural flavours with a modern twist. The recipes are available on Quaker India’s Instagram and YouTube, where easy-to-follow videos invite consumers to add oats to their own festive feasts.

Speaking about the initiative, Saakshi Verma Menon, Chief Marketing Officer – Foods, PepsiCo India said, “Through culturally rooted campaigns and seasonal integrations, Quaker aims to cater to the evolving tastes of urban India, where the demand for food that blends indulgence with nutrition is stronger than ever. The consumers of Kerala have embraced Quaker into their lives and by driving culinary innovations, Quaker continues to inspire new ways to celebrate festivities with nutrition. Wishing everyone celebrating, a wholesome, healthy and delightful Onam.”

Quaker’s engagement with consumers in Kerala continues to grow, powered by a deep understanding of regional preferences and a commitment to quality, consistency, and nutrition – making it a trusted choice in evolving Indian kitchens.
