Akash Ambani highlights growth across Network18’s news, digital, subscription and creator-led businesses, with Moneycontrol, Firstpost and flagship news brands driving engagement
Reliance Industries on Friday showcased the growing scale of its media business, with Network18 reaching 250 million viewers every month through television and expanding its presence across digital and social platforms.
Speaking at Reliance Industries’ 49th Annual General Meeting, Jio Platforms Managing Director Akash Ambani said Network18 now has more than 450 million subscribers and followers across its digital properties.
The company also recorded over 65 billion video views on social media platforms during the year, underlining the growing importance of digital content consumption.
“Network18 reached 250 million people every month through television and has over 450 million subscribers and followers across its digital platforms,” Ambani said.
Reliance highlighted the performance of its flagship news brands, with CNBC-TV18, CNN-News18 and News18 India continuing to lead their respective categories.
The company also pointed to the growth of Moneycontrol, which Ambani described as India’s leading financial intelligence destination. Subscription offerings such as Moneycontrol Pro and Moneycontrol Super Pro have helped strengthen the platform’s paid business by offering investors research tools, insights and premium features.
Firstpost, meanwhile, continues to attract audiences looking for an Indian perspective on global developments, Ambani said.
As media consumption habits evolve, Reliance is also increasing its focus on the creator economy. During the year, the company launched Creator18, a platform aimed at helping brands leverage creator-led content while developing new formats designed to engage younger audiences.
“With the creator economy growing exponentially, the company launched Creator18. This offering strengthens its ability to deliver social media solutions for clients and develops new formats that resonate with the younger audience,” Ambani said.
The update comes alongside strong performance from Jio Studios, which Reliance described as India’s No.1 content studio by revenue, catalogue size and box office share. The company’s Dhurandhar franchise crossed ₹3,000 crore in worldwide box-office collections, while Jio Studios completed three consecutive years as the highest-grossing Hindi film studio.
