Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar to address the gathering on 26th August

India Today Group is organising India Today Roundtable – Karnataka on August 26, bringing together some of the state’s most influential voices from politics, business, industry, culture and civil society for a meaningful dialogue on Karnataka’s growth, priorities and future. Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar will attend the roundtable and deliver a special address outlining his vision for the state and its next phase of development.
Through a series of wide-ranging sessions, the roundtable will set the agenda to examine the opportunities driving Karnataka’s economic and social progress. The roundtable will also evaluate the challenges that could influence its future trajectory. Conversations will span across investment, innovation, infrastructure, employment, governance and emerging sectors, offering a comprehensive view of the issues that matter to Karnataka today.
Apart from CM D K Shivakumar, the roundtable will also feature R. Ashoka, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, BJP, outlining the Opposition’s political strategy.
The spotlight will then turn to Bengaluru, with N. A. Haris, Harish Bijoor, Srinivas Alavilli and Revathy Ashok discussing the city’s priorities, challenges and future. Krishna Byre Gowda, Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development, will share his vision for the city, while Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament, BJP, will speak about the BJP’s political roadmap for Karnataka.
The political conversation will continue with Nikhil Kumaraswamy, State Youth President, Janata Dal (Secular), offering a regional perspective, while U. T. Khader Fareed, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, will discuss Karnataka’s healthcare priorities. Rizwan Arshad, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Karnataka, and Dr C. N. Ashwath Narayan, MLA and former Deputy Chief Minister, will come together for a sharp face-off on competing political perspectives.
The roundtable will also bring the voice of Karnataka’s younger generation to the forefront, with Pranitha Subhash, Samyukta Hornad, Naser Al Azzeh and Vineeth ‘Beep’ Kumar discussing aspirations, concerns and changing perspectives. Key issues including the Cauvery water challenge, the DKS legacy, healthcare, technology and Karnataka’s investment ambitions will feature in conversations with N. Chaluvarayaswamy, Aisshwarya DKS Hegde, Priyank Kharge and M. B. Patil.
Indian cricketer Shreyanka Patil will share her journey as a champion, while actors Ashika Ranganath and Sapthami Gowda will bring a cultural perspective, discussing the evolving aspirations and identity of Karnataka.
By hosting leaders, experts and changemakers on a common platform, the India Today Roundtable – Karnataka seeks to encourage substantive conversations around the state’s ambitions and the ideas required to translate them into meaningful progress.
