Visakhapatnam witnessed an enthusiastic celebration of fitness, community spirit and healthy living as Network18’s Mana Run – Vizag South Edition was successfully held at RK Beach on Sunday, September 6. The event brought together thousands of citizens from across the city, including runners, families, children and fitness enthusiasts, united by a shared commitment towards fitness and well-being.
The run was flagged off at 6:00 AM by Dr. Shankhabrata Bagchi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. His presence added significance to the initiative’s message of encouraging citizens to adopt an active lifestyle and contribute towards building a healthier society.
Network18’s Mana Run is aligned with the Government of India’s Fit India Movement and continues to promote healthier and more active communities through its initiatives. The Vizag edition reinforced the importance of making fitness a part of everyday life while carrying forward the larger message of a Fit and Drug-Free India.
The event featured multiple running categories designed to encourage participation across age groups and fitness levels. Children participated in the 1K and 2K Fun Runs, while the Timed Runs included 5K and 10K categories. Participants could also choose from the Non-Timed Runs, comprising 3K, 5K and 10K categories. The varied formats encouraged participation from both experienced runners and those taking their first steps into organised running events.
With thousands of participants running along the iconic RK Beach, Mana Run – Vizag South Edition created a vibrant atmosphere of community participation and togetherness. The event celebrated Visakhapatnam’s growing enthusiasm for fitness and encouraged citizens to make physical activity an integral part of their everyday lives.
The event received strong support from partners across cooking oil, nutrition, energy, sports, hydration, healthcare, education and industry. Freedom Healthy Cooking Oil joined the event as the Presented by Partner, while Milky Mist came on board as the Protein Partner. Fast&Up supported the initiative as the Energy Partner, with Decathlon as the Sports Partner and Campa Sure as the Hydration Partner.
Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital & Research Institute supported the event as the Health Care Partner, while ROSS University joined as the Education Partner. Reliance Industry supported the event as the Associate Partner, contributing to the success of the Mana Run – Vizag South Edition.
