Chennai witnessed a vibrant celebration of fitness, community spirit and healthy living as News18 Tamil Nadu’s Namma Run Chennai – 2nd Edition was successfully held at Island Grounds on Sunday, September 27. The event brought together 5,500+ participants from across the city, including runners, families, children and fitness enthusiasts, united by a shared commitment towards fitness and well-being.
The event was graced by Thiru. Aadhav Arjuna, Minister for Sports Development and Minister for Public Works, Government of Tamil Nadu, and Thiru. Rajmohan, Minister for School Education, Tamil Development, and Information, Government of Tamil Nadu. Their presence added significance to the event and its message of encouraging citizens to embrace an active lifestyle and make fitness a part of everyday life.
Namma Run Chennai continues to promote the importance of health, fitness and community participation by bringing people from different walks of life together through running. The second edition reinforced the growing enthusiasm for organised running in Chennai and encouraged citizens to make physical activity an integral part of their daily lives.
The event featured multiple running categories designed to encourage participation across different age groups and fitness levels. The diverse race formats provided opportunities for experienced runners, families, childrenand first-time participants to come together and be part of Chennai’s growing running movement.
With more than 5,500 participants taking to the course, Namma Run Chennai created a lively atmosphere of energy, enthusiasm and community spirit. The event celebrated Chennai’s passion for fitness while reinforcing the message that running can be a simple and powerful way to build a healthier lifestyle.
The event received strong support from partners across multiple categories. Be-Rite Refined Sunflower Oil joined the event as the Presented By Partner, while Calcimax 500 came on board as the Bone & Joint Health Partner. Parry’s Original Goodness supported the event as the Goodness Partner, with Fast&Up as the Energy Partner and US Cranberries as the Nutrition Partner.
