CNBC-TV18 to support Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative

To host the first ‘Defence – Make in India’ Summit

CNBC-TV18 will organize ‘The Defence – Make in India Summit’ at Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on 21st January 2016. The channel has been focusing on ‘Make in India’ in the Defence sector for several months through the series ‘Make in India – New Deal for Defence’.

Speaking about the Summit, Anil Uniyal, CEO, CNBC- TV18 said, “CNBC-TV18 has been a pioneer in nurturing business communities and has been constantly innovating with new genres of programming that help make business more relevant to different constituencies across the country. In the past the channel has been an important catalyst in the Indian economy’s growth story. The brand has cultivated communities such as SMEs, Entrepreneurs and others to take the industry forward and is once again  extremely proud to support the Union government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. We firmly believe that such an initiative can play a vital role in enhancing the business atmosphere in our country and help it evolve as a favourable destination for investment. Defence is one of the areas that requires substantial investment as we are still heavily dependent on imports. CNBC TV18 ran a series of shows to highlight the investment potential in this critical sector.  ‘The Defence – Make in India Summit’ is the culmination of these shows which will bring together industry thought leaders on a common platform and throw light on various issues pertaining to the sector – the challenges and the opportunities lying ahead. This is the first time that we are organizing such an event and we hope to continue supporting such initiatives in future.”
