The Edge of the Unknown: Risk. Resolve. Renewal – PM Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan PM Harini Amarasuriya to Headline NDTV World Summit 2025

At Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on October 17-18, the NDTV World Summit 2025 will bring the world to one stage, with the participation of two serving and two former Prime Ministers.

It will mark an exceptional moment in India’s thought leadership journey. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be joined by Harini Amarasuriya, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka; Rishi Sunak, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; and Tony Abbott, former Prime Minister of Australia in a global dialogue.

The theme this year, ‘Edge of the Unknown: Risk. Resolve. Renewal.’, captures the spirit of our times — an era when old certainties are dissolving, new horizons are opening, and the future must be shaped with clarity, courage, and collective resolve.

Prime Minister Modi will deliver the closing address of Day 1 of the Summit, in a defining session titled ‘Unstoppable Bharat: The Force of Now.’ His participation underscores the Summit’s role in shaping ideas that will define India’s destiny in an uncertain world.

Thought leaders such as Neil Thompson of MIT, Prof. Tarun Khanna of Harvard, and Parag Khanna of AlphaGeo will add scholarship and foresight to the conversations.

Equally compelling will be voices from business and innovation: Gautam Singhania of Raymond, Anil Agarwal of Vedanta, Kartikey Hariyani of ChargeZone, Vikram Rai of GE Aerospace South Asia, Sumit Madan of Axis Max Life Insurance, and global AI leader Nitin Mittal.

The Summit will also reflect on transformation in sport, with Ajit Agarkar, Chief Selector of the BCCI, addressing the uncertainty of choice and the inevitability of change in Indian cricket — a generational transition that mirrors the turbulence and renewal shaping the world.

Cultural and creative voices will add resonance and depth: actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Ishaan Khatter, and Merritt Moore — the ballerina and quantum physicist — will bring artistry and imagination to the dialogue. Nick Booker will draw on India’s civilizational knowledge to reframe contemporary debates on artificial intelligence.

Adding further weight to the dialogue will be senior envoys — Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India; Philip Green, Australian High Commissioner to India; and Dr. Philipp Ackermann, German Ambassador to India.

From shifting global power structures and the digital revolution to climate action, mobility, and social equity, the Summit will span the full arc of today’s defining questions. Over two days, it will spark conversations that challenge assumptions, expand possibilities, and inspire action — exploring how humanity can navigate the edge of the unknown with intent and resolve.

The NDTV World Summit is the expression of a new NDTV for a new India — decisive, future-oriented, and committed to convening the ideas and voices that will define our collective tomorrow. Bringing the World to India and India to the World.
