B-town Stars Set the Stage Ablaze at the Brihanmumbai Police and ZEE TV Ayojit UMANG 2017!

Tune-in to Umang 2017 on Sunday, 29th January at 6 PM, only on ZEE TV!

The annual entertainment extravaganza organized by the Mumbai police force for their friends and families,‘Brihanmumbai Police and ZEE TV Ayojit UMANG 2017’ saw the who’s who of Bollywood walk the red carpet. The hottest celebrities performed at the event to express their gratitude towards the police for their support and protection and will be telecast on Sunday, 29th Jan at 6PM on ZEE TV. Guest of honour – Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis , Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha and Chairman Essel Group and ZEE- Subhash Chandra along with celebrities Ranveer Singh, Kangana Ranaut, Anushka Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Katrina Kaif, Siddharth Malhotra, Tabu and Priety Zinta amongst many others were present for the celebrations.

The evening began with the quirky host Manish Paul calling all the dignitaries from the Mumbai Police Force and honourable Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on stage to light the lamp. The evening then saw a host of B-town celebrities set the stage ablaze with their rocking performances on their popular numbers. While the perky Parineeti Chopra gave a crackling performance to her popular ‘Janeman Aah’, the charismatic duo Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra danced to their superhit song ‘Kala Chashma’. The young and super talented singer Armaan Mallik sang some of his melodious romantic numbers like ‘Sau Aasmaanon ko’ and ‘Wajah Tum ho’. Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan danced to the title track of their upcoming film ‘Badrinath ki Dulhania’ and also did an impromptu jig with police officers and their family members. Jamie Lever, the daughter of the ace comedian Johhny Lever had the audience in splits with her mimicry of director Karan Johar, Malaika Arora and her witty one-liners. The talented Tiger Shroff showed the crowd how to shake their booty on the beat and even impressed the audience with a live 180 degree split in the air. The highlight of the evening was Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Maharashtra’s honourable Chief Minister. Expressing her love and respect for the police force, Amruta made her singing debut on stage with a rendition of her song from Jai Gangajal.

Resplendent in an elegant saree, Kangana Ranaut went up on stage and thanked the Mumbai Police saying, ‘It is because the police keeps us protected every single day that we sleep in our houses safely and without any worries. We are able to celebrate all festivals with our families, because they spend time away from their’s, guarding the city.’ Actor Anushka Sharma who looked elegant in a black-red saree and a neat high bun expressed her gratitude by saying ‘I understand some of the challenges that you guys face because even I come from a defence background and I do understand the pains of being away from family while serving the country. I salute your spirit and thank each one of you for making Mumbai the safest city in India’.
