Facebook APAC head to address Global Communication Conclave in Pune

Facedbook APAC Head Ramesh Gopalkrishna and veteran film personality Amit Khanna will address the two-day 12th Global Communication Conclave being held at Pune from March 9.

Mr G Srinivasan, Chairman and managing director of India’s largest non-life insurer New India Assurance Company Limited, will inaugurate the event being held by Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), which has emerged as a premier communication exchange for PR, media, advertising, HR, marcom professionals and mass communication students and academicians. The theme for the event is Transform or Perish.

In yet another highlight, IIT Kanpur Alumni Association’s Pune chapter will be the knowledge partner for the tech sessions covering IoT, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.

“Apart from the rapid developments in technology, life around us too is changing fast – faster than the speed of thought. What we think today may not be relevant tomorrow. Some of these rapid developments would need a total transformation, and not a mere change,” said Conclave chairman and PRCI national president B N Kumar said.

“We, therefore, plan to focus on sub-themes covering a host of subjects such as PR, Corpcom, Media, Social Media, Advertising, Crisis, HR, Mentoring, CSR, Artificial Intelligence, Governance, Film, Agriculture, Energy, Urban Infra etc., with the overall theme – TRANSFORM OR PERISH,” he said.

PRCI Chairman emeritus and chief mentor M B Jayaram said: “We are inviting several top notch speakers, corporate honchos, change leaders and above all those initiating Transformation in their chosen fields.” Facebook’s Mr Gopalkrishna has given his consent to deliver the keynote address.

“With the fast changing technology becoming the key enabler in today’s world, communication, media, advertising and HR professionals can ill afford to ignore the rapid developments around them,” said Shailendra Agrawal, president of IIT Kanpur Alumni Association, Pune chapter. “We are happy that PRCI has taken up an absolutely fitting theme Transform or Perish,” he added

PRCI and its Youth Wing Young Communicators Club (YCC) will hold a separate conclave mainly for communication students at the Symbiosis Vishwabhuvan Auditorium, Senapati Bapat Marg, Pune, in the first half of March 9, Jayaram said.
