Sony Sports expands regional reach with new Tamil and Telugu channels

Sony Sports expands regional reach with new Tamil and Telugu channels

Sony Sports Network, India’s leading destination for premium sports entertainment, is all set to reinforce its regional connect with the launch of its two separate regional channels, effective July 10, 2025. This strategic move aims to streamline the network’s offerings and create a more distinct, language-specific destination for its viewers across India.

Sony Sports Network will launch Sony Sports Ten 4 Tamil, exclusively catering to Tamil-speaking audiences and Sony Sports Ten 4 Telugu, focusing solely on Telugu-language sports content. This ensures that viewers will have a clear destination to receive content in their preferred language as well as targeted & culturally resonant programming.

Additionally, the network’s popular Hindi sports channel will also undergo a refreshed identity. Sony Sports Ten 3 (SD) will be rebranded as Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi, and Sony Sports Ten 3 (HD) will become Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi HD. This rebranding underlines Sony Sports Network’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality sports content for the Hindi-speaking audience.

Sony Sports expands regional reach with new Tamil and Telugu channels

Through this realignment, Sony Sports Network aims to enhance viewer clarity and regional accessibility with its content bouquet. By offering dedicated channels for Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi-speaking fans, the network continues to deepen its promise of making sports-viewing more personal, local, and emotionally engaging.

Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer – Distribution & International Business and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India: “The launch of Sony Sports Ten 4 Tamil and Sony Sports Ten 4 Telugu is our endeavour to provide localized content on dedicated Tamil and Telugu sports channels that make it easier than ever for fans to enjoy their favourite sporting moments in the language of their choice. This launch is about creating a seamless viewing experience and building a stronger emotional connection with our audiences in the regional markets. We aim to bring premium sports content closer to home and deliver the joy of live sports in a way that feels personal and relevant.”

This timely development comes ahead of a blockbuster sports calendar that includes two of the biggest cricket properties, the ongoing India tour of England series, the Asia Cup along with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), UEFA Champions League and more. With these channels now delivering content that makes you feel at home, Sony Sports Network is set to offer an even more immersive and inclusive viewing experience.
