What began as a carefully curated celebration of timeless Hindi music has today evolved into a much-loved musical brand. ‘Khumaar’, founded by Bipin R. Pandit, enters its landmark 20th year, marking two decades of bringing exceptional music and emerging talent to discerning audiences.
Over the years, Khumaar has grown steadily in popularity and has successfully travelled beyond Mumbai, with editions also being presented in Baroda and Indore. The hallmark of the show has always been its meticulous curation and its commitment to discovering and presenting talented singers.
The singers featured at Khumaar are selected through a year-long talent scouting process, ensuring that every edition brings something fresh and special to the audience. The 20th Anniversary edition, to be held on Friday, 4th September 2026 at 5:15 PM at Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Auditorium (Veer Savarkar Hall), 4th Floor, Shivaji Park, Near Mayor Bungalow, Opp. Scout Hall, 252, Veer Savarkar Marg, Dadar (West), Mumbai – 400028, will feature six talented singers – one from Pune and one from Nashik-Malegaon, and four from Mumbai.
As in previous years, the evening promises to be a celebration of music, nostalgia and talent, with a packed audience comprising the who’s who of the Advertising, Media, Marketing, PR and Research fraternity.
Speaking about the milestone, Bipin R. Pandit, Founder of Khumaar, said: “Khumaar has become a brand over the last 19 years. Every year, our endeavour has been to present quality music to our audience in an innovative and creative manner. This year, as we celebrate 20 glorious years, I promise to present Khumaar in a completely different and unique format.”
A special feature to this year’s celebration, Bipin Pandit will present Mohammad Rafi Award, honouring individuals who have made an exceptional contribution towards carrying forward the legacy of the legendary singer.
The first-ever Mohammad Rafi Award was presented last year to the late Mahendra Kapoor, one of Mohammad Rafi’s greatest disciples.
