Warner Bros. Discovery and Times Network Launch “Unheard Cries at GB Road”

A courageous documentary into the trauma and resilience of women on Delhi’s red-light strip

Warner Bros. Discovery and Times Network today announced the release of Unheard Cries at GB Road, a deeply human documentary amplifying the often-silenced voices of women living and working in Delhi’s red-light district. Through courageous on-record testimonies, survivors and sex workers reveal the trauma, resilience, and structural injustices that shape their everyday existence—stories long overlooked and urgently needing attention. The documentary premiered on discovery+ on 17 November 2025.

This special documentary, produced under Times Now Studios and co-written and produced by Rohit Chadda, is built on more than 50 in-depth interviews. At a time when portrayals of red-light districts often rely on fiction or stylised interpretation, Unheard Cries at GB Road provides a grounded counterpoint based on first-hand testimony. Its focus on documentation rather than dramatization adds a new layer of understanding to an area that is widely discussed but seldom heard from directly, while foregrounding both the trauma the women carry and the hope they continue to search for.

Sai Abishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids – South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said, “Unheard Cries at GB Road is a story that demands to be seen and heard. At Warner Bros. Discovery, we believe factual storytelling carries both purpose and responsibility, and this film embodies that commitment. By giving these women the space to speak for themselves, the documentary brings rare honesty and emotional depth to a subject too often misunderstood. We’re proud to partner with Times Network to help ensure their voices reach a wider audience.”

The production is supported by inputs from members of the Delhi Police, social workers, and subject-matter experts, allowing the film to situate individual accounts within the broader context of trafficking, safety, and legal challenges. The documentary also captures the environment inside the brothels, capturing the everyday conditions that define the women’s routines, responsibilities and quiet constraints that shape the lives of the women who endure them. Beyond the physical realities, the show sensitively portrays the emotional and mental toll these conditions impose, revealing how women navigate fear, coercion and uncertainty while still holding onto small but powerful pockets of hope.

A Times Network spokesperson said, “This film has been made with deep responsibility toward the women whose lives it reflects. Earning their trust and entering a world that has stayed closed for decades enabled our team to build a narrative that is honest, sensitive and revealing. Rohit Chadda’s role in shaping the interviews and structure has been crucial to the film’s authenticity. We hope it offers audiences a meaningful window into the realities of GB Road.”
