India Today sets a New Benchmark with Its 50th Anniversary Special: The Remaking of India: 1975–2025

India Today has unveiled its 50th Anniversary Special issue, The Remaking of India: 1975–2025, marking five decades of setting gold standards of journalism and documenting India’s transformation over half a century.

Conceived as a once in a generation collector’s edition, this landmark issue is the biggest ever issue produced by the magazine, setting a new publishing benchmark.

Released as a never-before double issue, it brings together more than 800 curated images and 256 pages of deep editorial content, spanning over 600+ pages in its English edition and over 360 pages in its Hindi edition, including innovative advertising.

Through its reflective content, the issue captures five decades of political shifts, economic reinvention, social change and cultural evolution, reflecting the scale and complexity of India’s journey over the last five decades.

The edition also records exceptional participation from the advertising community, featuring over 190 advertisers and 400+ advertising pages, including innovations in India Today English, and over 55 advertisers and 150+ pages, including innovations in India Today Hindi. This strong advertiser presence reinforces India Today magazine’s position as a trusted, credible and influential platform.

This 50th Anniversary issue reaffirms a belief we have always held that advertising delivers its strongest impact when it is carried by trust, depth and intent. In an increasingly cluttered and fragmented media landscape, magazines continue to offer brands something rare—credibility and sustained attention. Strong long-form journalism creates an environment where messages are not fleeting but absorbed and valued. That is why the industry continues to invest in print, because it associates brands with meaning, permanence and influence. This milestone reinforces advertiser confidence in magazines as a premium platform, where advertising benefits from the authority of the content it accompanies. When conviction meets quality, the result is work that endures, and this is only the beginning, said Mr. Manoj Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, Publishing, India Today Group.

Founded in 1975, India Today has consistently shaped national discourse through authoritative reporting, sharp analysis and visual storytelling. Over fifty years, the magazine has published 2,006 issues, becoming one of India’s most credible and enduring journalistic institutions. The anniversary edition stands as a definitive chronicle of modern India, seen, recorded and interpreted as history unfolded.

With this 50th Anniversary Special, India Today reinforces its role as a chronicler of consequence, offering readers, institutions and future generations a definitive account of India’s past and a lens to understand its present and future.
