With World Environment Day (June 5) in focus, CNN-News18, India’s most-watched English news channel, is launching #CNNNews18OneLess, a purpose-led campaign that encourages people across the country to take one simple, conscious action to reduce their environmental footprint.
The #CNNNews18OneLess focuses on the power of individual action anchored in a straightforward but powerful idea that the environmental crisis is not a distant concern but is reflected in the daily choices each of us makes, especially when multiplied by millions of people making the same conscious choice. One less unnecessary delivery order means less packaging, less paper, and less deforestation. One Less Elevator ride means less energy, fewer emissions, and less pressure on a warming planet. One Less Idle Engine means less fuel burned, less pollution, and fewer emissions. One Less Printed Bill means less paper and less impact on the climate.
As part of the campaign, CNN-News18 will feature a special line-up of on-air and digital content focused on practical, everyday actions that can help reduce environmental impact. This will include stories such as India’s Cooling Crisis, examining how rising air-conditioner usage is placing biggest stress on the country’s power grid; One Less Degree, highlighting the environmental benefits of small changes in AC temperature settings; expert-led discussions on sustainable use of household appliances and reducing plastic waste at home; and One Less Car Ride, exploring how short-distance driving is contributing to growing urban pollution. Together, these stories aim to make sustainability relatable, actionable, and relevant to everyday life.
The campaign will have CNN-News18 anchors raising awareness by asking viewers what their ‘One Less’ pledge will be, as one small change, multiplied by millions is where change begins.
