The New England Patriots will clash with the Atlanta Falcons at Houston as they seek their fifth championship title
The Sports Cluster of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN), for the third consecutive year, will broadcast the Super Bowl, one of the biggest American sporting events, which will see the New England Patriots face-off against the Atlanta Falcons, LIVE and exclusive on 6th February 2017 at 5:00 am on Sony SIX and Sony SIX HD channels.
The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL) and this year will be the 51st edition of the anticipated Big Game. The day the Super Bowl is played, is considered as an unofficial American National holiday, and is commonly called ‘Super Bowl Sunday’. Additionally, the Super Bowl has frequently been the most watched American television broadcast of the year. The one-day event is a festival of commercials and is also a big platform used by Hollywood to launch trailers or teasers of big budget movies.
Super Bowl has witnessed a high glamour quotient over the past few years having celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Mark Wahlberg and rap and hip-hop artists Usher, Da Brat and Ludacris watch and cheer the game. While singing talents like Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Coldplay and Katy Perry have performed at Super Bowl in the past years, this year viewers can look forward to Lady Gaga headlining the half-time Super Bowl show.
This year marks the ninth Super Bowl appearance by the New England Patriots, the most by any team, and the second appearance by the Atlanta Falcons, as a franchise. The Falcons will have to play their best for a chance to win their first ever Super Bowl after having lost in their previous appearance in 1999 to the Denver Broncos. Matt Ryan will be the key player basis his spectacular performance this season. However, Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman give Atlanta the best one-two combination at the running back position in the NFL.
