Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), the joint industry body for TV viewership measurement in India, resumed publishing of viewership data for the TV news genre, including that of individual channels, after a hiatus of nearly one year. The week 10 BARC data positions Aaj Tak as the only channel to have achieved this stance. Aaj Tak’s viewership skyrocketed to more than 10 crores in numbers during this high decibel week of exit poll and counting day!
Indian audience has always relied on Aaj Tak when it comes to news coverage -regionally, nationally or globally. The channel managed to retain its Number One position in week 6-10 of the current year 2022, through its coverage of national & global news events like Russia- Ukraine war, Panchayat Aaj Tak Punjab, (Polling phases 2-7), Exit Poll, Vote Counting Union Budget, Republic Day Parade and passing away of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar & Bappi Lahiri amongst others.
