The Torch Awards welcomes David&Goliath as the 2017 Torch Awards Agency Sponsor. D&G will join forces with Torch to help champion the next generation of young creatives and shine the spotlight on the 2017 Grand-Winning entry.
David&Goliath, the Los Angeles-based advertising agency founded by David Angelo, is dedicated to helping challenger brands outsmart and outperform the competition, and the creative agency adheres to a one word philosophy that they live 24/7: Brave. D&G’s philosophy for success will inspire the emerging young creatives entering this year’s Torch Awards.
As a member of the 2016 Torch Awards jury, Mr. Angelo was able to observe the competition behind the scenes, experience the young creatives pitch their ideas and deliberate with the jury panel in selecting the winning team. He experienced firsthand the extensive reach of the Torch Awards, the innovation of its global entrants and the impact on both the young creatives and the nonprofit organization.

New York Festivals created the Torch Awards as an expression of their commitment to the development and promotion of the next generation of creative talent. The competition harnesses the power, knowledge, and experience of the World’s Best Advertising® Jury to not only promote the mission of an important international nonprofit organization, but also to help young creatives age 18-27 gain skills that will help them elevate their careers.
This year’s challenge is the Integrated-Mixed Media Challenge. Young creatives from around the world will have the opportunity to submit their idea for the nonprofit’s goal set forth in the brief.
Five Finalist Teams will be chosen from all the submissions received and called to New York City to pitch their campaign idea to a panel of jurors, which includes representatives from the nonprofit. To help them prepare, each team is paired with a mentor selected from the New York Festivals® Jury—some of the most influential leaders within the international advertising community.
The Torch Awards submission deadline is February 17th. Finalist teams will be announced on April 3rd. The Grand-Winning Team will be announced and awarded live at the New York Show℠ taking place May 18th at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.
