With an awe inspiring success story, numerous accolades to his credit and an undying fanfare across generations, his charm refuses to fade away with age. Zee Classic, with its brand promise of Woh Zamana Kare Deewana celebrates Shah Rukh’s 51st birthday with a ‘King Khan’ festival.
Starting on Monday, 31st October to Friday, 4th November, every evening at 7 PM, stay tuned to some of the most memorable films of Shah Rukh Khan (SRK).
The festival flags off with ‘One 2 Ka 4’ on 31st October. Probing the murder of his colleague, SRK plays a cop in this action thriller also starring Juhi Chawla. Next comes comic caper ‘Baadshah’ on 1st November, starring Shah Rukh Khan with Twinkle Khanna, Johhny Lever and Amrish Puri. The film has SRK playing a small time detective who gets mistaken as a CBI undercover and has to then prevent the Chief Minister’s assassination.
On his birthday, 2nd November, Zee Classic presents his finest performance as an actor with ‘Baazigar’. One of the most successful films of Bollywood, this one has SRK in an intense portrayal of an anti-hero avenging a tainted past. Also starring Kajol and Shilpa Shetty, the film earned King Khan several awards for Best Actor.
Next in line comes SRK’s debut movie ‘Deewana’ on 3rd November also starring Divya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor. Despite limited screen presence in the film, Shah Rukh garnered rave reviews for his performance and as they say, the rest is history! Ending the week-long celebration is the musical love story, Pardes on 4th November. Noted as one of finest films of Subash Ghai, the film is a love story between an NRI and a simpleton from India.
