The Fourth edition of the Social Media Week, Mumbai kicked of successfully on September 12th, at Hyatt Regency in the city of dreams, Mumbai. SMW, an international conference hosted in 40 different countries over the year, it is one of the most popular platforms that is leveraged, to discuss the power of technology and global impact. The global theme for this edition was “The Invisible Hand: Hidden Forces of Technology” on September 12-16, 2016.
The opening keynote session on Monday, September 12th was by Vivek Nayer – Chief Marketing Officer, Auto Division, Mahindra & Mahindra to a range of prolific speakers like Adguru Prahlad Kakar, Atul Kasbekar – Filmmaker & Fashion Photographer, Satya Raghavan – Head of Entertainment, YouTube India and Aneesh Madani – Head of Sports Partnerships, Twitter India along with a number of panel discussions on various topics. The five-day long conference conducted a total of 35 topics including one on one session with the speakers as well as panel discussion. The Social Media Week, Mumbai explored the influence of the new framework of digital technology, redefining data consumption on social platforms, trends for campaigns, the intensity of information on social media.

The session with Vivek Nayer, touched base on successful digital campaigns and the how storytelling through new media is topical, interactive, inspirational and engaging. Prahlad Kakar, a leading Indian ad film director, shared his view on how storytelling can now be used as a dialog of meaningful interactions for brand building to connect to the end consumers. Satya Raghavan, touched-base upon the shared facts and figures the increasing trend of video consumption, stating that 7/10 internet users watch online videos in a month in India. Panel discussions through the week covered a total of 9 session through the week covering themes like News, Media and Entertainment, Startup and Entrepreneurship, Advertising and Marketing.
