Express IT Awards 2019

Financial Express, the premier financial daily from the Express Group, presented the Express I.T. Awards at a prestigious ceremony in Mumbai on December 13, 2019.

Mr S Ramadorai, Chairman, Tata Technologies; former vice chairman, TCS gave away the country’s most coveted IT awards — Express IT Awards — in Mumbai. Applauding the winners from the who’s who of the IT world.

Speaking at the seventh Express IT Awards, Mr Ramadorai said, “ The exciting aspect of modern information technology is that it’s being used for social good in areas of healthcare, education and agriculture.” He added that solutions to mobility even for daily commute could use digitisation and new technologies, including artificial intelligence. These would be welcome disruptions.

The evening witnessed a thought-provoking panel discussion on ‘Wiring India: Are we using technology to leap forward or is technology to be feared? ’ with Jatin Singh,Founder & Managing Director,Skymet; Roopa Purushothaman, Chief Economist and Head of Policy Advocacy, Tata Sons; V Vaidyanathan, Managing Director & CEO, IDFC First Bank; Sharad Sharma, Co-founder, iSPIRT Foundation, Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Founder & Executive Vice Chairman, Info Edge, Rajiv Anand, Executive Director, Axis Bank

The winning candidates were picked by a high-powered jury comprising Mohan Das Pai, Chairman, Manipal Global Education, Sharad Sharma, Co-founder, iSpirit Foundation, Siddharth Pai, Founder & Managing Partner, Siana Capital; Gopichand Katragadda, Founder & CEO Myelin Foundry; and S Sadagopan, Dean, IIIT Bangalore. Assisting the jury in their task was PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Founder & Executive Vice Chairman, Info Edge was felicitated with the lifetime achievement award for his immense contribution to making India an IT services powerhouse. Harsh Jain, Co-founder & CEO, Dream11 walked away with the Newsmaker of the Year award.
