Lockdown: India fights Coronavirus to premiere on National Geographic

National Geographic shines a light on the experiences of India’s selfless Covid-19 warriors through its “Made At Home” documentary

This made-at-home film captures the heroic efforts of police officers, medical personnel, a journalist and other officials in the essential line of work through remotely conducted interviews and footages shot by the protagonists themselves.

The film is scheduled to air on 22nd May at 9PM on National Geographic.

The nation is under lockdown to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. People are working from home, students are switching to e-learning and partygoers are attending virtual concerts. Amidst this, some people are putting their lives on the line to fight this pandemic at the frontlines. National Geographic, taking its authentic and immersive storytelling style a notch higher, is standing in solidarity to salute the brave hearts by capturing their unique and inspiring stories through National Geographic India’s first film produced entirely at home on the topic. The film titled ‘Lockdown: India fights Coronavirus’ is scheduled to premiere on 22nd May at 9 PM on National Geographic.

The unique film has been virtually directed and produced without a single member of the crew stepping out of their houses. The teams have stitched together self-shot sequences and archival footage from the protagonists themselves to showcase an unseen and moving narrative of their daily battles. From their rigorous routine, to dedicated service and combatant spirit, the film is an attempt to acknowledge and showcase the heroic efforts of the Coronavirus warriors across fields. It features government leaders, police officers along with medical personnel and other heroes born out of the crisis.

Our teams have been working doubly hard from remote locations, conducting interviews over video conferencing and using self-filmed videos and archival footage to tell this very special story.”

The film titled ‘Lockdown: India fights Coronavirus’, which will premiere on National Geographic on Friday, 22 May, 2020 is dedicated to getting the people of India meet the heroes on the frontlines of this battle.
