This expansion will help global retail and fast-moving consumer goods companies to respond to regional regulatory changes, stay ahead of consumer trends, and provide personalized and innovative products to increasingly discerning consumers

NIQ Product Insights (NPI) provides critical intelligence on product attributes, including dietary ingredients, sustainability and clean label, which are of greatest concern to consumers.
NIQ AI-driven solution expands catalog database of over 27,000 product attributes to 25 additional countries

NielsenIQ (NIQ), the leader in consumer intelligence, today announced the global expansion of its market-leading NIQ Product Insights (NPI) solution. The solution provides CPG companies and retailers with a rich catalog database of specific product attributes, including dietary ingredients, sustainability and clean label that consumers care about when shopping. Currently available in the U.S. among leading retailers and CPG manufacturers, NPI will expand to 25 additional markets in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Latin America between 2025 and 2026.

With the industry’s most granular product-level data, NPI helps brands and retailers stay ahead of global macroeconomic challenges, from changing regulatory standards to tariff impacts, to evolving consumer preferences and category trends. The solution combines NIQ’s comprehensive market monitoring data with generative AI technology to provide more than 27,000 structured product attributes for each SKU, addressing 99% of consumer queries, including whether the product is suitable for GLP-1 therapy users, whether it is gluten-free, whether it is produced in the country, and many other attributes that today’s consumers care about most.

“In a complex marketplace with increased competition and increasingly discerning consumers, retailers are facing additional pressures from tariffs and inflation, which impact product selection and go-to-market decisions. Our NIQ Product Insights solution provides analytics and insights to help companies understand global regulatory changes – including origin labeling requirements and food additive bans in various markets, as well as how and why consumers are reacting to product and pricing changes, ” said Marsha McGraw, Global Managing Director of NIQ .

Unparalleled product granularity and global relevance

NPI transforms billions of product data points into structured claims, recipes, dietary indicators and certifications, enabling brands and retailers to identify trends early, deliver personalized experiences and accelerate innovation with confidence. Core capabilities include:

Regulatory readiness: Attribute-level data helps producers and suppliers stay abreast of changing global regulations: easily navigate tariffs, country-of-origin labeling, and food additive bans in different markets.

Accelerate innovation: NPI helps clients identify new trends and respond with the right claims, ingredients and formats to influence consumer choice and get products to market faster.
Personalized consumer services: Retailers use NPI’s granular attribute data to improve category management, optimize shelf layout, and provide personalized shopping experiences, thereby increasing loyalty and conversion rates.

AI-driven intelligence, global scale

As part of NIQ’s expanded solution, NPI aims to reshape the industry’s understanding of the drivers of purchasing decisions. By integrating comprehensive retail monitoring data with a new generation of AI tools, NIQ provides a unified “source of truth” for fast-moving consumer brands and retailers to optimize strategy formulation, product development and launch execution.

This expansion is a key milestone in NIQ’s transformation, further solidifying its position as the consumer intelligence partner of choice for its 23,000 clients worldwide, including many of the top retailers and brands.
